Athlete of The Month: Kylee Litton

We are excited to recognize Kylee Litton for her dedication, hard work, and passion for softball. As a freshman, she is already making a big impact at our school as a shortstop and pitcher. She started playing at five years old when her friends encouraged her to try it. Since then, she has grown into a great player!

A Love For Softball

Softball has been a big part of Kylee’s life, and she looks up to professional athletes for inspiration. One of her biggest role models is Jordy Bahl, a talented pitcher for the Nebraska Women’s Softball team. Kylee admires her hard work and determination.

Over the years, coaches have given her great advice, but one message really stands out to her: “Don’t give up on yourself and always try to stay positive.” This piece of advice was given to her team by their high school coach, Todd Collins.

Achievements & Goals

One of her most memorable moments was winning the district tournament in middle school. This showed how hard her and her team worked together. Kylee is still continuing to improve; her biggest goal for now is to improve her pitching. In the future, she hopes to go to college.

Overcoming Challenges & The Importance of Teamwork

Being an athlete isn’t always easy. For Kylee, the hardest part is balancing school and sports. As a freshmen, she is learning how to manage her time and stay focused both in school and on the field.

Even though pitching and playing can feel like individual positions, she knows that softball is a team sport. Whether it is making a great play or cheering from the dugout, she believes that playing and coming together as a team is important.

Game- Day Routine
Before a game, Kylee makes sure to mentally and physically prepare herself. She does breathing exercises to stay calm and tries not to get in her head when she plays. Stretching is also an important part of her routine; this helps her avoid injuries and stay loose. Athletes also need an amazing hype song! Hers is, any song from Descendants!
