Veterans Day: A day to remember those who endured the turmoil of war to protect our freedom. We honor these veterans each November in a ceremony in the East Hickman High School gymnasium. Sponsored by our Fellowship of Christian Students, this event sheds light on some of the sacrifices that our veterans have made in order for us to be free. According to the 2020 Census, 8.9% of Hickman county is populated by veterans, approximately 2.9% greater than the percentage of veterans proportional to the population of America. Our county is extremely proud of the veterans in our community, and we thank those men and women who come out to our ceremony and allow us to shed light on the sacrifices it takes to be a veteran.
