College Fair Returns!

East Hickman High School finally had their annual college fair since the school year of 2019-2020. Over twenty different colleges came to the campus including the Army, Navy, and National Guard. It was an all-around good experience for seniors and juniors to learn more about colleges that they may have not heard about before. The colleges handed out pamphlets showing different types of scholarships and what they will offer at their institute.

This week is free college application week, September 19-23. Seniors, make sure to check your google classroom for information from Mrs. Meadows. Some colleges’ free application extends past these dates— make sure to check your college of choice.

Looking Back at Summer: FBLA Nationals in Chicago

Over the summer, FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) went to Chicago to compete in nationals after placing second in Introduction to Social Media Strategies and fourth in Website Design at the Tennessee state competition in early April.  Over the course of several days, we went to the Chicago Bean, gave our presentations, and explored the city.  We attended multiple workshops to acquire different skills one might need in the business world. 

Even though neither of our teams placed in Nationals, we took the opportunity to explore the city and catch a glimpse of the big city. We are so grateful that we were given this opportunity to go and represent our school.  We are looking forward to hopefully getting a chance to go again this summer.
