With the winning of the spirit stick at the pep rally, the Senior Class has experienced their last first pep rally. In order to emphasize their entry, the senior class entered the gym through a tunnel of cheerleaders after every other class. Some class members are already experiencing the pains of seeing the end of their high school careers. Tapanga Hayes remarked that “I knew it would go by fast, but I didn’t realize it would be that fast.” Other seniors may only experience these emotions at the beginning of the next school year when high school starts early in August without them.
The first home game of the season left the Eagles short with the score of 30-2 against the Mount Pleasant Tigers. It is early in the season, so there is plenty of time for the Eagles to regroup and take charge. The next home game will be homecoming on September 9th when the Eagles take on Stewart County. The theme will be based on vs. (versus).
